Children have an innate curiosity and appetite for discovery - they have a strong tendency to explore, test and experiment. They have a curiosity to know how the world around them functions. Knowing how the world functions is a concept that must be built on experiences. For young children, in the age group of three to six years, these experiences are most memorable when delivered through play. Young children must be given the space to explore the world around them and understand it through play along with their peers.
In the preschool years, children engage with science when they are exploring, testing and experimenting the phenomena they observe around them. This thinking and skills that they develop start manifesting to lay the foundation for building the creative and entrepreneurial mindset for futuristic learning.
The world is changing faster than ever before. One thing we can all be certain of is a future filled with uncertainty. The problems we face today and the unknown challenges of tomorrow can be solved by cultivating a skill-set that enables young children to create, adapt and thrive in an uncertain future.
